The role and priority of Rail Baltica global project in the present geopolitical situation is increasing. Therefore, with aim to update the existing and potential suppliers and key partners on the Rail Baltica global project progress, inform about the procurement plans for 2022, and address supplier questions regarding procurement and contracting, the Rail Baltica Procurement Webinar 2022 was held and broadcasted online on 13 April 2022 at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. EEST. During the event experts from the Rail Baltica project delivery organizations – the Rail Baltica joint venture RB Rail AS, as well as the national implementing bodies – Rail Baltic Estonia, “Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas” and LTG Infra outlined the main priorities for the Rail Baltica progress in 2022, introduced the Rail Baltica global project procurement plans for 2022, including key tenders and timeline.
In addition, the event also provided an opportunity for suppliers to better understand the procurement process, procurement approach, and the main requirements to succeed in the future tenders. Additionally, Madamme Catherine Trautmann, the European Coordinator for the North-Sea Baltic TEN-T Corridor provided introductory remarks on the EU position and expectations towards the Rail Baltica project and its suppliers.
