French Minister of Foreign Trade Promotion Franck Riester visits the Rail Baltica construction site

On Wednesday, September 15 the French Minister of Foreign Trade Promotion Franck Riester and a delegation of French entrepreneurs visited the Rail Baltica construction site at the Riga Central station.

Kaspars Vingris, Chairman of the Board of the European Railway Line, and Marc Philippe El Beze, Technical Director and Member of the Board of the Rail Baltica joint venture and global project coordinator RB Rail AS, introduced the guests to the Rail Baltica project, after which the construction progress was inspected.
 
After the meeting, Minister Frank Riester acknowledged that French entrepreneurs are interested in further involvement in the Rail Baltica project. The French company Egis Rail is already actively participating in the project (e.g., in route design and construction planning documentation for Salaspils intermodal freight terminal construction project together with DB Engineering & Consulting (Germany) and Latvian company Olimps, as well as Rail Baltica line construction supervision and quality expertise at the Central Railway Station together with DB Engineering & Consulting and EGIS Batiments International).

Another French company Certifer SA, as a single independent certified assessor, is providing Notified Body and Assessment Body services for the entire Rail Baltica Global project, throughout the design, construction and integration phases, assessing it’s safety and interoperability evidences.
