Veiko Haavapuu joins Rail Baltica team as the new Chief Financial Officer

On 1 September 2021 Veiko Haavapuu joined the Rail Baltica joint venture RB Rail AS as the Chief Financial Officer and member of the Management Board.

Veiko Haavapuu is an experienced finance expert with a strong track record and over 20 years of professional background working in audit, telecommunications, retail, and transport companies. His most recent former experience includes roles of Group Finance Director/CFO at Tallink Grupp AS, Director of Circle K Europe Finance Centre and previously Finance and Control Director, and a Member of the Management Board at Circle K Europe Treasury in Estonia and Circle K Estonia, respectively.

“The Rail Baltica Global Project has matured and entered the next phase as the current focus of the project is to start the large-scale construction works, some of which have already started across all three Baltic States. Together with the team, we will focus on attracting further financing for the Rail Baltica project, prepare a next-generation cost benefit analysis and business plan and ensure the transparent and efficient use of available funding. I am happy and excited to join RB Rail AS in this position and looking forward to meet all stakeholders with whom I will work closely on this megaproject,” says Veiko Haavapuu, RB Rail AS Chief Financial Officer and member of the Management Board.

RB Rail AS is a multi-national joint venture of the Republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, which has been established to implement Rail Baltica – the first pan-Baltic infrastructure project of its kind. RB Rail is the central coordinator for the Rail Baltica project.
