Change of management in RB Rail AS Estonian branch

On 9 November 2022 Priit Sauk, who is currently assuming Estonian branch manager position in Rail Baltica joint venture RB Rail AS, was appointed as the new Director General of The Estonian Transport Administration, effective from 21 November. Toomas Alle, Technical Director and Kristjan Piirsalu, Chief Procurement Officer at RB Rail AS will be temporarily taking over Estonian branch management duties starting 18 November and will perform them until the new Branch Manager in Estonia is appointed through open recruitment.

I am still a great supporter of Rail Baltica and will do everything possible to help the implementation of the project in the leadership capacity at the Estonian Transport Administration,” said Priit Sauk.  

Toomas Alle will be responsible for the technical project management, directing and supervising the Rail Baltica project on behalf of the joint venture from the technical side, ensuring the consistency and continuation of the mainline design towards completion, managing the technical direction through planning, design, and implementation in accordance with the project objectives and best practices. Kristjan Piirsalu will be the interim Branch Manager, looking after the daily operations and administration of RB Rail AS Estonian branch, addressing horizontal project management aspects and at the same time remaining with his duties of managing key procurement aspects of the Rail Baltica global project.  

The change is subject to RB Rail AS Supervisory Board decision and is planned to come into force 18 November.
