The Rail Baltica joint venture RB Rail AS has commenced and progressing with the second round of negotiations for the procurement of the Control-Command and Signalling (CCS) subsystem Design and Build, one of the project’s most strategic procurements.
Updated bids have been submitted by four Tenderers: Hitachi Rail GTS Deutschland GmbH (Germany); the association “SKGN Baltics,” involving Siemens Mobility OY Latvian Branch, Siemens Mobility GmbH, GRK Suomi OY, NRC Group Finland OY, and Kontron Transportation GmbH (Latvia, Germany, Finland, Austria); the association formed by Indra Sistemas, S.A. and AŽD Praha S.R.O (Spain, Czech Republic); and the association “ALSTOM – COBRA – FIMA,” comprising Alstom Transport SA, Alstom Baltics SIA, Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios S.A, and PS “Fima KZA Krakow” (France, Latvia, Spain).
Individual negotiation meetings with each Tenderer are taking place, enabling RB Rail AS to clarify the details of the submitted proposals and examine potential optimisations to both the technical solutions and costs for first phase of the Rail Baltica Global Project. The negotiations are expected to conclude in December, after which RB Rail AS plans to prepare and launch the final stage of the procurement process.
