Earlier this month, Rail Baltica was featured at the 39th NETLIPSE Network Meeting, hosted by Rijkswaterstaat and Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands. The event brought together public sector professionals and infrastructure experts from across Europe to exchange knowledge and discuss the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
Toomas Alle, Rail Baltica’s Technical Director for Estonia, represented RB Rail AS and took part in the panel on International Collaboration on the Rail Baltica Project. In his presentation, he outlined the project’s development – from its early concept nearly 30 years ago to the active construction phase now underway in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
“Rail Baltica is a truly collaborative European initiative,” said Alle. “Strong coordination among many partners and transparent communication are essential to keep such a large and complex project moving forward.”
He also reflected on the importance of effective planning and stakeholder engagement:
“Delivering a cross-border project of this scale is not only about technical solutions,” Alle added. “It’s about building understanding and trust to ensure long-term success.”
The NETLIPSE Network Meeting continues to serve as an important platform for sharing experiences and good practices from large infrastructure projects across Europe.
