RB Rail AS has announced the launch of a new procurement for Design Expertise Services for the Rail Baltica Energy Subsystem in Latvia and Lithuania (ID No. RBR 2025/14), marking the next step forward in the detailed technical development of the Rail Baltica electrification system.
The procurement is structured into two separate lots, one for Latvia and one for Lithuania, allowing suppliers to submit proposals for one or both countries. Local design expertise companies with relevant experience in Latvia and Lithuania are encouraged to participate.
The contract aims to secure independent design expertise services to support the continued development of the Rail Baltica energy subsystem, ensuring technically sound, high-quality, and fully compliant electrification infrastructure solutions across both countries.
The Rail Baltica energy subsystem encompasses traction substations (including High Voltage parts) and overhead contact line infrastructure, providing a safe, stable, and efficient power supply for railway operations. As electrification advances across the Baltic states, the delivery of robust technical solutions remains a core priority for the project.
Interested suppliers are invited to submit their proposals electronically via the E-Tenders system no later than 7 May 2026 at 11:00 (Riga time). Proposals submitted through any channel other than the official E-Tenders platform will not be accepted or evaluated.
Full procurement documentation and further details are available on the Rail Baltica website and the Electronic Procurement System.
