Kristīne Marija Trepša, HR Administrator, RB Rail AS

This week, we are pleased to introduce Kristīne Marija Trepša, HR Administrator at RB Rail AS. Kristīne joined the Rail Baltica project in September 2022, starting as an Office Administrator before transitioning into her current HR role, where she supports the people behind this large-scale, international initiative. Known for her adaptability, positive energy, and passion for meaningful work, she has developed a deep understanding of HR processes in a diverse environment and values the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Describing Rail Baltica as “the railway project of the century and a way to connect us to the rest of Europe,” Kristīne believes that curiosity, resilience, and a supportive team spirit are key to success in this transformative project.

When did you join the Rail Baltica project and whatinspired you to become a part of the team?

I joined Rail Baltica 3 years ago almost to the day in September, 2022 as an Office Administrator. At that time I was actually looking for a position in human resources, but once I saw the opening in RB Rail as an Office Administrator I could not pass it up and felt that I will belong. To me this felt as an opportunity to be a part of something big.

How has your role evolved since you first joined the Rail Baltica project, and what have you learned along the way?

After joining I quickly realized that I am capable to do more and not that far along the way more opportunities to prove myself came. My role transitioned to Office Administrator/HR Administrator and after that full time HR Administrator. Since working here I have gained a deeper understanding of HR processes in an international environment and how important people are in such a complex project.

What does the Rail Baltica project mean to you?

It is the railway project of the century and a way to connect us to the rest of Europe. I have to go to work every day so why not work on something meaningful and impactful not only to me but every European?

What advice would you give to a newcomer joining the Rail Baltica project team?

Brace yourself with curiosity and resilience. This is a long term project with many involved parties and that might feel intimidating at the start, but the team is supportive and will guide you along the way.

What specific contribution or skill do you believe you bring to the Rail Baltica project team that sets you apart from others?

I bring a lot of energy and a positive attitude to the team, which helps me stay motivated and encourage others around me. I am also very flexible and adaptable, which are vital characteristics in this project where changes are constant. Most importantly, I have a genuine passion for the project, because I want to dedicate my skills to something meaningful and valuable for the future.
